What types of cardboard
can be recycled?
Most cardboard boxes and other
cardboard packaging can be recycled but not with other papers e.g.
newspapers and magazines.
Cardboard that has been used to store
food in e.g. pizza boxes, can’t be recycled as they will “contaminate” the
other cardboard being recycled.
How to recycle cardboard
Cardboard can be recycled at many of
London’s Reuse and Recycling Centres and some boroughs also collect
cardboard from homes.
Remove all plastic/polystyrene
packaging from inside any cardboard packaging.
Remember to flatten all cardboard
boxes before putting them in the collection container as big boxes are
difficult to collect and take up lots of space in the collection vehicles.
